How To Manage Your Twitter Following And Followers

How many times per day do you receive an email informing you that some random person has begun following you on Twitter? How many times have you randomly started following people in hopes that they would return the favor and follow you? It seems that the goal of most Twitterers (may not be a word but I’m feeling it right now) is to obtain as many followers as possible. Why? I don’t know really. I guess they believe it will increase their popularity.

This is terrible practice, absolutely terrible. However, people do it everyday. So if it’s going to be done maybe the best way to tackle the problem is to know how to manage it. I came across a great article that provides some tools in doing just that. The article reveals some tools that will help you choose other Twitter users to follow based on their popularity and reach. It also provides tools to help clean up your following and followers.

Check the article out here and be sure to leave a comment if you have some great tips or tools that you’ve come across.
